SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster College women's track team has signed Megan Molumby to a Frontier Conference letter of intent, assistant coach Jared Ocana announced Thursday.
"Megan will contribute to our program immediately," Ocana said. "She had a successful prep career and we are looking forward to her career as a Griffin."
Molumby joins the Griffins after her high school career at West Jordan High School. The 5-foot-8 sprinter from West Jordan, Utah was the Utah 5A state champion in the 400 meter after posting a school-record time of 56.34 in the state finals. She also finished third in the state with a time of 25.65 in the 200 meter.
"I am excited to be joining a young track team," Molumby said. "I look forward to helping build a successful program at Westminster."
Along with her finishes at the state meet, Molumby was the region champion in the 100m, 200m and 400m at West Jordan. She also won a state championship as part of the 4x100m relay team, as they posted a school-best time of 48.59.
Molumby was a member of the National Honors Society in 2011 and 2012 and received a Utah All-State Award from the Track Coaches Association as a senior.
Molumby was also an all-state defender in soccer and will play for the Westminster women's soccer team this fall.
