The road block located at the junction of SR-6 and SR-96 was removed. Scofield area residents will be allowed to return by way of SR-96. A road block placed at the south end of Scofield will prevent motor traffic from continuing to Clear Creek on SR-96. SR-31 and SR-264 from Fairview are not open. Evacuation remain in place for  Electric Lake, Clear Creek, Cleveland Campground, Miller Flat Reservoir, Hog Flat and several youth camps.

Shingle Fire

 

Where: Six miles south of Duck Creek Village in Shingle Mill Canyon in Kane County 

Size: 8,200 acres

Containment: 40 percent  

Structures:  1 uninhabited cabin was destroyed southwest of U.S. 89, also known as Todd Corner. Crews are working to secure the fire where 550 residences, 1 commercial property and 300 outbuildings are threatened.   

Evacuations: The evacuation order for homes north of U.S. 14 were lifted on Friday and U.S. 14 was also opened. Swains Creek evacuations will be rescinded on Saturday at 6 a.m.

Started: 3:38 p.m. July 1 

Injuries: a firefighter sprained an ankle late Tuesday 

Cause: Human caused, spark arrester malfunction from ATV

Wolf Den Fire

Where:  Uintah County, 4 miles north of Big Park

Size: 19,865 acres

Containment: 85 percent

Structures: None threatened

Evacuations: None

Started: 1:15 p.m. June 29

Injuries: none 

Cause: Under investigation, possible dry lightning
