SALT LAKE CITY — Utah law enforcement officers will be joining with officers from two other states to crack down on impaired driving this weekend.
The Utah Highway Patrol, Nevada Highway Patrol, Idaho Highway Patrol — in addition to local county and city police departments in border areas — will working together June 29 and 30, the UHP reported. Their goal is to spot impaired drivers and lower the number of crashes.
"The Utah Highway Patrol is joining forces with these other agencies in a team concept approach to attack impaired driving on one of the most dangerous weekends for DUI driving," the UHP said.
Officers will focus on I-84, I-15, state Route 90 and state Route 30 in the areas of northern Utah, southern Idaho and northwestern Nevada.
