SALT LAKE CITY — Vice President Joe Biden will make a fundraising stop in Utah next month, state Democratic Party Chairman Jim Dabakis said Monday.
Dabakis said the July 10 fundraiser for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign will be held at a private home in Park City. The vice president has no other events scheduled in the state.
"We would love to have him do something," Dabakis said. "But this is just the way politics are now. The pressure is on to raise so much money. We're thrilled to have the vice president here."
The visit comes a year after after first lady Michelle Obama spent less than two hours in the state, also to raise money for the president's re-election at a Park City home. About 250 people turned out to see her, paying at least $1,000.
While the price for attending the vice president's fundraiser has not been released, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, charged $50,000 to attend a special dinner last week at a home in Bountiful.

Biden, Mr Gaff machine himself, one of the biggest political hacks in the nation, is a great example of what is wrong with our country.
Yes, how could Biden ever think to be compared to the saintly, easy-to-know, bi-partisan, freedom-loving, former Utah neighbor and all-around humanitarian Dick Cheney?
RE: Mark B
Atleast Cheney was sober.
And Cheney wasn't so bad. If the extreme left hate you, how bad could you be?
