OREM, Utah — The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee announced the participants in the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary Championship Competition Thursday, and included on the list are several Utah Valley University athletes.
After sending three student-athletes last year, the Wolverines are sending five to participate in five events in Eugene, Ore., May 24-26.
Freshman Nicholas Taylor will compete in the 100 and 200 meters; Tim Rowberry in the 800 meters; Shelise Walker in the 1500 meters, Maryn Pincock in the discus, and McKell Camp-Nielson in the javelin.
Camp-Nielson, with her throw of 50.87 meters, is ranked 11th in the javelin, while Rowberry is 38th in the 800 meters, Taylor is 36th in the 100 and 40th in the 200, Walker is 25th in the 1500 and Pincock is 38th in the discus.
Last year, Olivia Kyere-Boateng (100, 200), Kodi Kleven (5,000 meters) and Kelli Roach (javelin) competed for the Wolverines.
