The Sporting News has ranked all the college football coaches, and BYU's Bronco Mendenhall checks in at No. 15, one spot below Mark Richt of Georgia, and one spot above Texas coach Mack Brown.
Jake Ziolkowski, a high school receiver from Illinois, is walking on at BYU this fall.
Meanwhile, Lone Peak High receiver Talon Shumway said he has decided where he will play college football — either at BYU, Utah or Utah State — but won't announce his decision until next week.
Former BYU quarterback John Beck has signed a free agent deal with the Houston Texans.

You can believe whatever you want to believe, but here in the real world the Sporting News ranked Bronco higher than Kyle as a football coach. End of story.

It is great to see him get some National attention and it is well deserved. BYU has to be the most difficult place to coach in the country with the missionaries coming and going all the time and with the honor code limiting who they recruit. I think More..
Whittingham, Mendenhall, and Anderson are very impressive coaches. It's nice to all three of these programs on the rise. Good luck to all of them in the upcoming season
