Aggie gymnastics trio set to compete in NCAA Regional Championships Saturday
Utah State gymnasts Rebecca Holliday, Paige Jones and Sarah Landes will be in action at the NCAA North Central Regional Championships on Saturday, April 7, hosted by the University of Utah at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. Action starts at 6 p.m.
“We’re really excited to be here at regionals and continuing our season,” USU head coach Jeff Richards said. “We really like being here at Utah. It’s close to home so it can be like a home meet, and our fans can come cheer us on. We’re familiar with the environment here, and the fans are always supportive of us, which is a huge benefit and a big positive for us. We’re excited and ready to go.”
All three Aggies will be competing in the all-around. Holliday, a senior, and Landes, a freshman, are making their first NCAA regional appearances, while sophomore Jones is making her second after competing on floor and vault last year.
“I’m excited to be here and be close to home so our fans, friends and families can come watch us compete and cheer for us,” Holliday said. “I’ve been in this arena before, so I know what to expect with the equipment and surroundings with the crowd. We’re excited.”
The three Aggie gymnasts will be joined at the North Central Regional Championships by fellow WAC foe San Jose State, along with Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa State, Arizona State and host Utah. USU’s three all-arounders will be joined by BYU’s Raquel Willman and Linnaea Hance of Air Force.
