Bill Cosby and Diamond Rio coming to BYU-I

REXBURG, Idaho — Students at Brigham Young University-Idaho can look forward to some big names in entertainment with Bill Cosby and Diamond Rio coming to town for the school's Center Stage Performing Arts Series.

Cosby will make an appearance June 8 at "An Evening with Bill Cosby." Diamond Rio, the Grammy-winning group, will perform May 4 in the Hart Auditorium.

The series will kick off April 20 with Jeffery Broussard and the Creole Cowboys, a band from Louisiana playing authentic Zydeco music. They will perform in the Hart Auditorium.

The next week will feature an award-winning a cappella group from Germany, Vocaldente, in the Barrus Concert Hall. Later in the series, classical pianist Josh Wright and the Mirari Brass Quintet will perform.

The series will also host soprano Alyson Cambridge, performing a wide variety of musical numbers from opera to Broadway show tunes. The BYU-Idaho university choirs and Symphony Band will play "Patriots and Pioneers" July 14, joined by Mormon Tabernacle Choir Member Alex Boye.

The final performance will be by pianist Jon Schmidt and cellist Steven Sharp Perry.
