The Utah Department of Transportation says work at the intersection of 35th South and 56th West is nearing completion and all lanes through the intersection should be open by Friday. Left turns at that location will again be allowed.
Since work began to widen and improve the intersection last April, traffic has been restricted to one narrow lane in each direction, and left turns were prohibited. This work is part of a $1.3 million project to widen, make safety improvements and install new signals on 35th South at the major intersections of 32nd, 36th, 40th, 48th and 56th West. Work will continue through the summer on shoulder widening and signal installation mainly between 32nd West and 48th West causing some lane restrictions.
