MANILA 8, ST. JOSEPH 4: St. Joseph finished the game with seven hits, but Manila rallied for six runs in the third and fourth innings to steal the game on the Richfield tournament.

Girls soccer

WEST 5, TOOELE 0: Five different girls found the back of the net for West, while Elmira Sperling preserved the clean sheet in goal Thursday afternoon. Sasha Glass dished out two assists to go along with here goal.

MURRAY 9, COTTONWOOD 1: Murray poured nine goals on 5A Cottonwood to pick up a second consecutive win to start the season.

JORDAN 3, HILLCREST 0: The Beetdiggers blanked the Huskies.

RIVERTON 1, OLYMPUS 0: Hailey Skolmoski netted the lone goal of the match for Riverton, finding the ball at her feet after a beautiful through-pass that set up the attempt on goal.

BOX ELDER 3, BEAR RIVER 0: Beth Davies, Paige Stevens and Sydney Uyematsu knocked in goals in the shutout win over Bear River.

CLEARFIELD 3, SYRACUSE 2: In the back and forth affair, it was Clearfield who managed to narrowly slip past Syracuse in nonregion play.

SKYLINE 3, MAPLE MOUNTAIN 2: Emma Hyn, Jaslyn Masina and Maddie Gill each found the back of the night Thursday to propel Skyline to the win at home.

AMERICAN FORK 5, FREMONT 0: Savanna Empey and Kenzie Jorgensen split the shutout, as American Fork found five goals to skip past Fremont.

COPPER HILLS 3, HUNTER 2: Kaitlyn Sisler, MKenzie Safford and Liz Pena each notched a goal Thursday night to help Copper Hills slip by Hunter in the nonregion road victory.

SALEM HILLS 5, WESTLAKE 0: Five different girls managed to score for Salem Hills on Thursday, while Sophie Carter recorded the shutout between the posts.

LAYTON 5, BEN LOMOND 2: Kenzie Humphreys netted a pair of goals, and a trio of girls finished off the scoring to lead Layton to its first victory of the season.

PLEASANT GROVE 3, MOUNTAIN VIEW 0: Morgan Quarnberg found the back of the net twice, and Amelia Fullmer buried a third to help Pleasant Grove to the win on the road.

MANTI 2, SPANISH FORK 0: The Templars blanked the Dons.

WOODS CROSS 4, OREM 0: Eden Jacobsen dished out three assists, and buried a goal as well to lead Woods Cross to a lopsided win at home. Alyssa Mann netted a pair of goals in the victory. McKenzie Cable and Rachel Noel split the shutout.

CORNER CANYON 1, BINGHAM 0: Mikayla Feller found the back of the net for the lone goal of the match over 5A Bingham. Eden Withers recorded the shutout between the posts.
