3 Utah student-athletes honored for academic exploits

KANSAS CITY, Mo. The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced that three Utah student-athletes were named to the Honors Court for the 2013-14 season due to their academic success.

Xan Ricketts was honored for the second year in a row and recently graduated with a 3.90 GPA in Business. Jeremy Olsen and Austin Eastman were recognized for the first time.

Olsen owns a 3.77 GPA in Business while Eastman has a 3.60 in Engineering. Utah was one of only three Pac-12 teams to have players make the honor roll, joining Stanford (4) and Arizona State (2). This past season, the Utes also put a program record five student-athletes on the Pac-12 All-Academic Teams. Olsen was named to the first team and earned scholastic honors for the second-consecutive season. He was honored along with fellow Utes Brandon Taylor, Renan Lenz, Dakarai Tucker and Dallin Bachynski.
