EMERY 16, GRAND 9: Emery won its third game of the day in dominant fashion to capture the 2A baseball state championship.


MURRAY 10, WOODS CROSS 0: The Spartans scored 10 runs off of 10 hits to defeat Woods Cross in the first round of playoffs.

SPANISH FORK 7, BONNEVILLE 0: Maverick Buffo struck out 13 batters and Spanish Fork had a balanced team effort at the plate en route to blanking Bonneville.

MOUNTAIN CREST 1, WASATCH 0: In a dandy pitching performance from Mountain Crests Ben Weese and Wasatchs Makord Larsen, who each only allowed four hits, the Mustangs survived to advance on a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning.

MOUNTAIN VIEW 6, KEARNS 2: Mountain View scored four runs in the seventh inning, capitalizing on some poor Kearns fielding to break open the close game and advance to the 4A second round. Jordan Raab picked up the victory for the Bruins only allowing five hits.

SALEM HILLS 13, BOX ELDER 9: Austin Hanks pitched the win from the mound and roped two doubles for the Skyhawks in the victory over Box Elder. Salem Hills was fairly sound defensively until the bottom of the seventh, as the team produced a triple play in the bottom of the second inning.

BOUNTIFUL 7, TIMPANOGOS 3: Ben Fowers three-run home run in bottom of the second got the Braves rolling while Ryan Stringfellow and Sam Merrill drove in runs with doubles.

SKYLINE 4, CYPRUS 3: Bridger Nielson struck out 12 and Jake Dobecki had two RBIs as Skyline squeezed past Cyprus.

MAPLE MOUNTAIN 11, LOGAN 9: Dallon Peterson pitched the win while teammates Mitch Holmes and Nik Mafi smacked doubles to help lift Maple Mountain over Logan in the 4A playoffs.


COPPER HILLS 10, HILLCREST 0: Cody Barkdull and Zac Hoffman both homered as Copper Hills jumped out to a 4-0 first inning lead and never looked back to pick up the 5A first round victory.

VIEWMONT 5, PLEASANT GROVE 3: Davis Madsen smacked a double and a home run to help lift the Vikings over Pleasant Grove for the first round 5A win.

LAYTON 4, RIVERTON 2: Layton scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, aided by a big triple by Quentin Marcelin to advance to the second round of the 5A playoffs.

BINGHAM 3, COTTONWOOD 0: Connor Goff and Sean Keating each contributed a double for the Miners in the narrow win over Cottonwood.

LONE PEAK 5, DAVIS 2: Lone Peak pounded out 12 hits and never looked back after jumping out to the three-run first inning lead, continuing the trend of great baseball late in the season. Grant Lyman picked up the victory for the Knights.

TAYLORSVILLE 5, BRIGHTON 3: Kenneth Atwood went 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Zac Stepp with 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs as Taylorsville edged Brighton for the 5A first round win.

JORDAN 7, HUNTER 0: Mason Krueger led the way with three hits as the Beetdiggers defeated Hunter in the first round of 5A playoffs.

FREMONT 3, AMERICAN FORK 2: Garrett Himelright smacked a bases-clearing double in the second inning to give the Silver Wolves the lead. Fremont hung on for the first round Playoff win over American Fork.

ALTA 3, GRANGER 0: Marshall Miller scored twice to lead Alta to the win. Dylan McIllece got the shutout in goal for the Hawks.

RIVERTON 2, DAVIS 0: Brett Smith scored a goal in each half, and Parker Seegmiller preserved the clean sheet as Riverton blanked Davis for the 5A first round win.

VIEWMONT 3, AMERICAN FORK 0: Porter May notched his 10th shutout of the season to help the Vikings advance.

COPPER HILLS 3, WEST 2: Luis Vargas scored the golden goal in overtime as Copper Hills eked out the road victory over West to advance to the 5A quarterfinals.

FREMONT 3, PLEASANT GROVE 2: Parker Preator scored in the last two minutes to lift the Silver Wolves.

TAYLORSVILLE 1, BRIGHTON 0: Carlos Lopez scored the game-winning goal in overtime as Kellar Sirstins made some key saves as Taylorsville knocked off Brighton in the opening round of the 5A state tournament.

HUNTER 1, BINGHAM 1: Justin Motzkus, Nathan Gray, Giovanni Rodas and Jesus Arellano converted penalty kicks in the shootout, and goalkeeper Motzkus made two stops as Hunter stunned Hunter with the 5A first round road victory.

LAYTON 2, LEHI 0: Youri Joseph scored a pair of goals, and Isaac Hunter picked up the shutout as Layton hit the road and knocked off defending 5A state champ Lehi in the opening round of the 5A playoffs.



OLYMPUS 9, BOUNTIFUL 6: Haylee Eskelson got the win in the circle and helped her own cause with a home run at the plate as Olympus topped Bountiful.

SPANISH FORK 11, ROY 1: Kelsey Christensen knocked out a home run and pitched the win as the Mighty Dons routed the Royals in the first round of playoffs.

MAPLE MOUNTAIN 1, BOX ELDER 0: Carley Guymon pitched a no-hitter for Maple Mountain as the Golden Eagles edged Box Elder in the first round of 4A playoffs.

EAST 5, TIMPANOGOS 2: Trailing by two entering the bottom of the sixth inning, East exploded for five runs in the frame to pull away from Timpanogos. Aloma Solovis two-run home run put the Leopards in the lead and they didnt look back.

BONNEVILLE 4, SPRINGVILLE 3: Bonneville scored with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to sneak past Springville. Andrea Hancock got the win in the circle.

CLEARFIELD 12, OREM 2: Lexi Andersen doubled twice, and Bailey Douglas only allowed four hits on the mound as Clearfield rolled past Orem for the 4A first round win.

WOODS CROSS 11, MURRAY 3: Hanalee Robinson picked up the victory as visiting Woods Cross upset Murray to advance in the 4A winners bracket.

SALEM HILLS 11, MOUNTAIN CREST 0: Salem Hills posted 16 hits capped off by Kenzie Martin with a double and home run as Salem Hills routed Mountain Crest for the 4A first round win. Every Salem batter had at least one hit and Kirtlin Bohling gave up two hits and had eight strikeouts in the win.


COPPER HILLS 3, WEST 2: Payten Davies led the Grizzlies defense in the first round.

RIVERTON 5, SYRACUSE 0: Cheyanne Dahl pitched the win and knocked out a home run as the Silverwolves shut out the Titans to move on to the next round.

LAYTON 9, LONE PEAK 0: Raeana Gall hit two home runs while Mikelle Smedley added another and got the win in the circle as Layton bested Lone Peak.

ALTA 8, HUNTER 4: The Hawks jumped out to an early lead and continued on to secure the victory over Hunter. Brittni Chase pitched the win while Lexiington Walbeck knocked out a home run for Alta.

LEHI 9, FREMONT 5: Sydney White and Madison Cook each knocked out home runs as the Pioneers edged Fremont.

TAYLORSVILLE 11, WEST JORDAN 3: Karlee Jensen, Caitlyn Littleford and ShayLee Pierson all doubled, while Asenaca Lesuma homered to lead Taylorsville past West Jordan and into the second round of the 5A playoffs.

BINGHAM 11, GRANGER 1: Taylor Jerant went 4-for-4 from the plate while teammate Taylor Clemens earned the win on the mound as the Miners secured the victory over Granger.

HERRIMAN 5, VIEWMONT 4: Brittany Wood knocked out a 3-run home run in the sixth inning to help lift the Mustangs over Viewmont in the first round of playoffs.
