NONREGION

PAROWAN 8, LINCOLN COUNTY, NEV. 5: Jake Topham and Kirk Harrison had three hits apiece to lead Parowan in the first game of the doubleheader.

PAROWAN 12, LINCOLN COUNTY, NEV. 0: Brenen Rowley led the Rams on offense with a three-run homer and a double while also recording the complete-game shutout victory on the mound.

Boys soccer

JUAN DIEGO 1, ALTA 1 (SOARING EAGLE WINS SHOOTOUT 14-13): After playing to a tie at the end of regulation and through two overtimes, it took the Soaring Eagle and the Hawks 16 penalty kicks to determine a winner. Woodey Greer finally clinched the win when he converted on the final PK, giving Juan Diego a 14-13 advantage and the Real Cup victory.

Girls basketball

RIVERDALE BAPTIST SCHOOL 60, FREMONT 35: The Silver Wolves suffered a slow start against the suffocating Riverdale Baptist defense and never regained composure in the National Tournament championship at Madison Square Garden. Early foul trouble, 28 team turnovers, and 22.6 percent shooting for the game — including 18.8 percent from the 3-point line for a team that is typically strong from long range — doomed the 5A state champions. Junior Shelbee Molen led Fremont with 13 points and seven rebounds, McKenzie Burrows had seven points, and Amanda Wayment totaled five points and seven boards.
