4A FIRST ROUND
MOUNTAIN VIEW 0, TIMPVIEW 0 (BRUINS WON SHOOTOUT 8-7): Regulation and two overtimes wasn't enough for Timpview and Mountain View to come to a decision, so the two teams went to a shootout with Mountain View escaping with the first-round victory. The Bruins topped the T-Birds 8-7, with McKenna Wiscombe netting the winning PK to complete the upset. Natalie Hall and Daryl Kaufusi each recorded the shutouts.
BONNEVILLE 1, BOUNTIFUL 0: Bonneville made a first-half goal hold up as it stunned Bountiful in the 4A first round.
TIMPANOGOS 3, WASATCH 1: Timpanogos built a big lead in the first half thanks to a pair of goals scored by Jordyn Chung-Hoon, and one by Olivia Burnett. Timpanogos held on to advance to the second round of the 4A state playoffs.
CLEARFIELD 1, SKY VIEW 0: Lexi Taylor's goal in the first half of play proved to be the difference maker, as goalkeeper McKenna Sill and the rest of the Clearfield defense kept Sky View at bay en route to the victory. Clearfield advanced to the second round of the state 4A playoffs.
SKYLINE 6, SPRINGVILLE 0: Skyline rolled past Springville to advance to the second round of the 4A state playoffs. Emma Heyn scored twice for the Eagles, while HIllary Weixler received credit for the shutout in net.
MAPLE MOUNTAIN 5, CORNER CANYON 0: Elise Flake found twine twice as Maple Mountain blew past Corner Canyon to advance to the second round of the 4A playoffs. Brooke McCluskey earned the shutout between the posts.
EAST 1, MOUNTAIN CREST 0: Visiting East scored late in the second half to knock off Mountain Crest and advance to the 4A quarterfinals.
5A FIRST ROUND
BRIGHTON 6, WEST 0: Jocelyn Loomis netted two goals and the Bengals scored four times in the second half to cruise past West. Tamaryn Braun and Carly Olson split the shutout to help Brighton advance to the second round of the 5A playoffs.
DAVIS 2, RIVERTON 2 (DARTS WON SHOOTOUT 3-2): Riverton scored two goals in the second half to extend the game into overtime, but the match would need a shootout as neither team could gain an edge. Davis pulled off the upset and advanced to the second round of the 5A playoffs by winning the shootout 3-2. Hailey Skolmoski netted two goals in the loss.
FREMONT 2, AMERICAN FORK 0: Mariah Elmer's two scores helped Fremont defeat American Fork and advance to the second round of the 5A playoffs. Alexis Burnett earned the shutout between the posts for the Silver Wolves.
VIEWMONT 5, LEHI 0: Viewmont rolled past Lehi to advance to the second round of the 5A state playoffs. The Vikings got goals from Jessica James, Abbie Flandro, Montana Tanner and Karrie Pead, who scored twice in the match.
HILLCREST 1, BINGHAM 0: Sophomore standouts Skye Jeffries and Nicole Jessen carried the Huskies into the second round of the 5A state playoffs with suburb play. Jeffries scored the lone goal of the game while Jessen kept Bingham off the scoreboard, recording the shutout in net.
ALTA 8, HUNTER 0: The Hawks found the back of the net seven times in the first half to pick up the first-round win of the 5A playoffs against Hunter. Sydney Fitzpatrick, Bizzy Phillips and Madie Lyons each scored two goals to power Alta's offense.
