LAYTON 15, FREMONT 7: Hunter Evans passed for 227 yards and a touchdown, and Davis Marriott rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown as Layton eked out a victory over Fremont in a defensive triple-overtime game.
NORTHRIDGE 47, VIEWMONT 7: Dayan Lake contributed 12 carries, five catches, and two touchdowns as the Knights overwhelmed the Vikings. Lake finished with 186 yards on the night. Nate Kusuda wen 16-for-25 with 303 yards and three scores, and rushed for another TD in the region win. Jace Colby caught eight balls for 198 yards and two TDs.
AMERICAN FORK 28, RIVERTON 25: American Fork topped Riverton in a back and forth affair. Riley Smith plunged in from 1-yard to give the Cavemen the three point lead, and Wolves' ensuing would-be-tying kick failed.
LEHI 37, WESTLAKE 24: Cade Calton was at it again Friday night, rushing for over 300 yards with three touchdowns for Lehi. Gavin Williams threw for 354 yards for Westlake, which was previously undefeated coming into the game.
HERRIMAN 29, LONE PEAK 21: Kody Jarvis was a beast for Herriman in the Region 4 opener, rushing for two touchdowns and returning an interception 95 yards for another as Herriman stunned Lone Peak. Brandon Farmer helped ice the game with a 43-yard score in the fourth quarter. In the loss, Knights' quarterback Baron Gajkowski ran for a score and passed for two more.
LOGAN 61, OGDEN 13: Chase Nelson wasted no time shredding the Odgen defense apart, throwing for 5 touchdowns in the first quarter.
SKY VIEW 45, BONNEVILLE 7: Sky View jumped out to 35-0 lead at halftime behind quarterback Braxton Godderidge, who accounted for five touchdowns.
ROY 39, MOUNTAIN CREST 27: Roy scored on an 80-yard streak pass from Tyler Skidmore to Cody Hobbs on its first possession before building a comfortable lead. The Royals improved to 4-0 on an emotional night in which the community honored Baby Tee Eteuati, who's mother unexpectedly passed away last week.
HIGHLAND 35, KEARNS 14: Highland dominated in the first half over Kearns to start the Region 6 play with a solid win.
BOUNTIFUL 44, CLEARFIELD 7: Tanner Redding scored three touchdowns as Bountiful easily blanked Clearfield in the region opener for both teams.
EAST 42, WOODS CROSS 6: The Leopards' dual-threat quarterback Isaac Valles threw for 107 yards and a touchdown, and added another 140 yards and touchdown on the ground. Running back Ula Tolutau picked up 130 yards rushing and also scored.
OREM 56, MURRAY 7: Orem scored 35 points in the second quarter, then cruised past Murray for its first win of the season. The Spartans scored first, but then yielded 56 unanswered points.
CORNER CANYON 47, MOUNTAIN VIEW 24: Riley Ogden rushed for four touchdowns as visiting Corner Canyon rolled past Mountain View for its first victory in school history. Leading 21-14 at the half, the Chargers pulled away with a strong defensive effort.
TIMPANOGOS 47, SKYLINE 34: Timpanogos' Jackson Dunford had an impressive outing, throwing three touchdown passes and running for another two in the victory over Skyline.
WASATCH 17, PROVO 14: Wasatch built an early 17-point lead, and held on as Provo battled back to make a game of it.
