REGION 2

VIEWMONT 8, GRANGER 4: Viewmont pounded out 13 hits on never looked back after jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Parker Taggart doubled and tripled in the win for the Vikes.

HUNTER 5, TAYLORSVILLE 2: Taylorsville missed out on an opportunity to clinch the Region 2 championship as Austin Bean fanned eight batters in a complete-game effort to lead Hunter to the upset victory.

WEST 10, KEARNS 2: Alex Espinoza earned the win and nailed a double as the Panthers rolled past Kearns to remain in the hunt for the region title.

REGION 3

COTTONWOOD 8, COPPER HILLS 7: In a critical game for state tournament seeding, Cottonwood pulled out the extra inning victory over Copper Hills in a game that Dylan Cooley smacked a home run for the Colts.

ALTA 4, WEST JORDAN 3: In a bizarre finish, Alta's Braydon Goddard hit a walk-off three run shot in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Hawks kept their region title hopes alive. West Jordan had taken a two-run lead in the top of the eighth, but it couldn't hold onto the lead.

JORDAN 12, BRIGHTON 0: Jordan scored 11 runs in the second inning on its way to the easy victory over Brighton. Austin Anderson hit a double during the big inning for the 'Diggers.

REGION 4

AMERICAN FORK 8, RIVERTON 3: American Fork scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth as it moved into a first place tie with Riverton a top the Region 4 standings with two games remaining. Sean Hardman picked up the victory for the Cavemen.

BINGHAM 6, LEHI 3: Bingham kept its Region 4 title hopes alive with a strong victory over Lehi. Chase Tavonatti only allowed four hits to pick up the victory for the Miners.

PLEASANT GROVE 7, LONE PEAK 5: Pleasant Grove scored twice in the top of the seventh to pick up the critical victory in the battle for the final playoff spot from Region 4. McKay Lewis led the Vikings at the plate going 3 for 4 with two RBIs.

REGION 7

WESTLAKE 20, HERRIMAN 10: Westlake started Daniel Nugent on the mound followed by Drayson Christensen and Ian Empey who threw 3 2/3 strong innings getting the win. Westlake's bats were strong again today led by Drayson Christensen who had a four hit day and four other Thunder players had three hits each. Every Westlake player scored at least one run.

SKYLINE 5, OLYMPUS 3: Skyline's Andrew Bourgeois, Riley Hennings and Abe Yagi contributed doubles in the close win over Olympus.

MURRAY 13, HILLCREST 3: Murray rolled past Hillcrest to remain a game ahead of Westlake in the race for the Region 7 title.

REGION 8

SALEM HILLS 6, MOUNTAIN VIEW 5: Salem Hills took the lead in the sixth inning with the go-ahead run on a passed ball. Clay Wessel earned two RBIs in the fourth inning. Garrett McEwan also earned an RBI.

TIMPANOGOS 14, TIMPVIEW 4: Tanner Nielsen hit a double and home run and also had four RBIs to lead Timpanogos to the blowout victory over Timpview.

MAPLE MOUNTAIN 6, PROVO 5: Bryson Van Tassell walked with the bases loaded to lift the Golden Eagles in the bottom of the seventh inning.

SPRINGVILLE 6, OREM 4: Springville's Gentry Merideth pitched six complete innings to lead Springville to the victory over Orem. Hunter Frampton went 3 for 4 and Parker Johnson went 2 for 3.

NONREGION

CARBON 5, GRANTSVILLE 2: Jarod Lessar earned the win as the Dinos broke a tie with three runs in the fifth inning in the nonregion victory over Grantsville.

Softball

JUAB 12, WASATCH 9: Trailing 9-7 head into the top of the seventh, Juab scored five runs to take the lead en route to the impressive nonregion win over Wasatch.

HURRICANE 4, KANAB 0: Paisley Peasrson struck out 11, raising her season total to 100 in the victory over Kanab.

EMERY 5, CARBON 1: Emery started the game strong scoring four runs in the first inning and never looked back in picking up the win over Carbon.

SOUTH SUMMIT 12, PARK CITY 3: South Summit rolled past Park City in the nonregion victory.
