Colorful celebration marks winter's passing and spring's arrival

Participants threw colored chalk into the air during Saturday's Holi Festival of Colors at the Krishna Temple south of Spanish Fork.

In India, Holi announces the arrival of spring and the passing of winter. The celebration, which includes music and food, continues Sunday, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., at the temple, 8628 S. State Road. Throwings will be held every two hours, and there is a $3 entrance fee for adults.
