Major League Soccer, North Americas first-division soccer league, had struck a partnership with lower-level USL PRO last month. The deal dictated that all USL PRO teams will be affiliated with an MLS team.
The affiliation would mean sharing resources and even players, as MLS clubs can send at least four players to its USL PRO affiliation.
Phoenix FC has not affiliated with a MLS club yet. But it may very well partner with Real Salt Lake.
