In this September file photo, James Hunter of Bountiful rides his bicycle often on the Legacy Parkway Trail next to the highway in Davis County.
Ravell Call, Deseret News
I am a fan of the Legacy Parkway. I was driving it this morning both going to and coming from Layton. I noticed something unusual — there was no one on the walking trail, where there is still 4 to 6 inches of snow.
I know that local entities have responsibility for their portion of the parkway. Someone should plow the snow there so it can be used year-round.
With a snowplow-equipped ATV, it would probably only take 45 minutes to do the job.

Not a bad idea, but right now therE are budget concerns.
Are you a Republican who also wants to cut taxes?
I wonder if the boardwalk sections of the trail can support an ATV with a plow or if the plow would damage the boardwalks. I've driven on Legacy and thought the same thing about it needing to be plowed. I hear the budget concerns too.
