Inmates walk for exercise at the Utah State Prison Timpanogos Facility in Draper.
Jeffrey D. Allred, Deseret News
Our prison has many volunteers, whose service is of immeasurable value. You can't put a price on the human cost of separating these angels from the inmates they serve.
There is also no way to calculate the cost of keeping inmates from receiving visits from their families.
Give up the idea of moving the prison. It's a bad idea and should be dropped quickly every time someone brings it up.

Everyone agrees with you... Except... For the land developers who are contributing gigantic amounts of money to our legislators.
I suggest not only writing to the Dnews your feelings but also your local representatives. Vote the bums out More..
Besides, if the prison is moved, our legislators will someday come to regret it.
Why? Well, what would happen if our attorney general was really on the ball doing what should be done? If that ever becomes the case, there will be More..
The family of inmates and volunteers are essential to societal integration following release. Don't sacrifice those for the sake of more housing development. The cost of moving the prison is prohibitive. D's vs. R's? That's a More..
