A lot of people wanted to see Jabari Parker go to BYU because he is Mormon, but that would have been the wrong choice. If he wants to win, why would he pick BYU?
Of course he would have been the star player there, but it is hard to win when it's mostly one player trying to do all of the work. It worked for former BYU star Jimmer Fredette, but only for a while. The better teams in the country found a way to shut down a team with only one major offensive threat.
While Parker is at Duke, the team will be more balanced on offense. Plus, Mike Krzyzewski knows how to win in different levels of basketball. He has coached national champions at Duke, coached Olympic gold teams and has the most wins in college basketball. It's an easy choice!

Nice letter from a ute fan. Jabari is going to be successful wherever he goes. He could have been a legend at BYU now he is just one more good player from Duke. If he only plans to play for one year, it would have been more of a challenge and more More..
Would have been fun to see him a BYU, but who wouldn't pick Duke in his situation? Great talent, smart move on his part, and from what I've always heard about Duke, he will receive support for his beliefs and values. Coach K is the perfect More..
Perhaps he could have been a star at BYU.... but the church doesn't need stars in Utah... it really doesn't. As has been asked from the pulpit many times over, we need to build the church around the world, not just in Utah. Not every kid More..
