Richard Doverspike, left, of Fairmont City, Pa., checks out one of the thousands of handguns on display at the NRA convention.

It was extremely disheartening to read the comments of Rep. Jim Matheson, Sen. Mike Lee, Rep. Jason Chaffetz and Sen. Orrin Hatch, all of whom have received money from the NRA in the last election.
At the least, three measures everyone ought to support are reinstating the ban on military-style assault weapons, restricting high capacity ammunition clips, and closing gun show loop holes.
Is it too much to hope that our elected officials would put our welfare ahead of pressure from the NRA?

Hatch, Chafetz, Lee, Bishop and the rest of them will take money from whoever offers it. And they will return the investment with whatever the investor seeks.
Nothing new here.
Flashback - we may have had an assault weapons ban in the past but we have never had an assault weapons confiscation. There were still too many such weapons on the street and in the hands of loonies when this law was put in place. If we are going More..
Ms. Walton: I hope you take the time to write to the mainstream media sources also and ask them to PLEASE quit putting mayhem and violence scenarios on T.V. (especially free tv).
The mainstream media are doing their best to control and More..
