"If you meditate like, 10 minutes in the morning, 10 at night, you're actually producing more joy," Blackwell said in a video interview. "There is a joy center which is in the upper left lobe of our brain, and you can actually generate more neurons."
Blackwell, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, wrote a book titled, "Christ-Centered Meditation." She considers Christ her "guru," and said she enjoys teaching meditation as a spiritual practice that doesn't disrupt the theology of the faith.
