In a game Wednesday between the Toronto Raptors and the Brooklyn Nets, referee Courtney Kirkland ran at Nets forward Kris Humphries as he was about to take a free throw and attempted to block his shot.
Kirkland was apparently unable to get Humphries attention to tell him that some of the subs had yet to check in to the game and, instead of letting Humphries shoot and ordering a retake, jumped forward with his hands up to prevent the shot.
Humphries was able to stop his momentum before letting go of the ball and laughed as Kirkland apologized.
