SALT LAKE CITY — Utah's annual Red Rocks Gymnastics Preview will take place on Friday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Huntsman Center. Admission and parking to the popular event are free. The doors and the Kid Zone will open at 5:30 p.m. The Kid Zone will feature Santa Claus, face painting and a poster making station.

Seating for the preview is open and the first 2,500 fans in the doors will receive exclusive team trading cards. The gymnasts will be introduced with a fireworks exhibition and will then split into two teams for an intra-squad competition. At the conclusion of the meet, they will sign autographs.

Season tickets will be on sale at the preview for as low as $40 or just $8 a meet. Tickets may also be purchased at or by calling 801-581-UTIX. Preseason sales have been brisk and are currently at around 6,000 sold.

Fans on Friday will see 10 returning letterwinners from last year's Super Six team, including five All-Americans. They'll also get their first look at freshmen Taylor Allex, Breanna Hughes and Haley Lange. For those fans who can't attend, the meet will be streamed live at

The Utes, ranked fifth in the preseason coaches' poll, will kick off the 2013 season at No. 2 UCLA on Jan. 12 in a meet that will be televised nationally on the Pac-12 Networks. The first home meet is Saturday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. against No. 9 Oregon State, No. 24 West Virginia and Southern Utah.
