So when Democrats lose an election, Republicans have a mandate and are allowed to set the agenda. And when Democrats win an election, they're supposed to immediately yield to Republicans.

When both parties are unwilling to compromise, then we all lose. President Obama seems to be incapable or unwilling to be a leader who is willing to do this. Therefore, we all lose.
