BLACKSBURG, Va. — Virginia Tech's defense goes up against a powerful dual-threat quarterback every day in practice in 6-foot-6 Logan Thomas.
The Hokies (3-1) will go against one in a game on Saturday when they play Cincinnati (2-0) at FedEx Field in Landover, Md. Bearcats quarterback Munchie Legaux is 6-5 and 200 pounds, and he runs very well.
Hokies linebacker Bruce Taylor says a running quarterback presents a challenge, and an opportunity. Each time he runs, Virginia Tech's defenders will have a chance to hit him, and to take the ball away from him.
Legaux averages 10 yards per rush, but committed four turnovers two weeks ago against Delaware State.
Bearcats coach Butch Jones says ball security was a focus last week, when the team was idle.
