If you just put the solar panels on your roof you decrease load on the powerlines.

Mine have been up there for 6 years doing a great job. Solar panel prices are so low right now it's amazing. You could buy the panels to provide 100% More..

Infrastructure is necessary. Roads, power transmission, etc. The maintenance of it isn't always a headline grabber until it fails, but it's necessary for our standard of living.
