The Utah State Aggies' first football win over the Utah Utes in fifteen years set off a storm of responses on Twitter as fans and former USU players celebrated.
"Utah State All Day! I been tellin y'all... My boys are foreal and here to stay!" tweeted former Utah State cornerback Curtis Marsh, now with the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles.
Seattle Seahawks rookie Bobby Wagner chimed in with this tweet: "Like I said 'the best team in utah' UTAH STATE!!!!!".
Aggie fans were eager to join in the fun, even those that weren't watching the game. @emiliescribbles tweeted: "My favorite part of tonight was being in Smith's and hearing someone update shoppers on the Aggie score over the PA. #closeknitvalley"
@alyse71 put her own spin on the well-known USU chant: "I BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE WON!! #aggies #USU"
Utah supporters, on the other hand, displayed a range of emotions, from disbelief to despair to realism.
Utah fan blog @BlockU tweeted: "Utah totally outclassed. Whittingham totally outcoached. Utes totally outplayed."
@CarolinaUte had this observation: "Folks, the loss tonight is why some #Ute fans shouldn't talk about going to the Rose Bowl prior to playing/beating credible opponents. #fail"
And @MyHandle26 noted the absence of a suspended player in the Utah defensive backfield: "Oh how I miss Brian Blechen."
BYU fans couldn't help taking a few potshots, either. @GeoffJBYU had this to say: "Dear every BYU fan telling me to not get overconfident about the Utah game: Save your breath. BYU is better than Utah this season."
As for the national scene, Sports Illustrated writer Stewart Mandel tweeted: "Texas State. Utah St. Almost San Jose St. ... Can we give it up for the WAC?"
And ESPN.com's Pac-12 blog didn't use some questionable penalty calls as an excuse: "Homecooking officiating late? Absolutely. Excuse? No way. Utes shouldn't leave themselves in that situation."

Thanks for coming Utes. I hope you enjoyed your trip to #TheHouseofPain
Come back any time.
I guess size doesn't matter, stadium size that is.
I can see why you don't want to schedule us anymore though, it More..
Home cooking officiating? Weren't those PAC-12 officials? I thought the PAC-12 required all its members to use a PAC-12 crew in their non-conference games.
