Utah native Trevor Lewis, of the NHL champion Los Angeles Kings, brought the Stanley Cup to Utah and shared it with local fans.

Trevor Lewis, a center for Los Angeles Kings, spent part of his 24 hours with the Stanley Cup taking pictures with fans at the Maverik Center on Thursday. A Salt Lake City native, Lewis was clutch in the playoffs, scoring three goals — as many as he had in the regular season. Deseret News hockey blogger Aaron Morton was there when he talked to media.
Q: You're the only Utahn whose name is on the most famous trophy in sports. Has it sunk in what that means?
A: I don't know if that will ever sink in. To get it (Thursday) morning is something special and it brought back a lot of memories.
Q: What do you think of this crowd reaction? They are lined out the door.
A: I did it when I was young; I came and saw it. It's a pretty cool time. It's been a dream come true for sure. ... The first time I saw the cup was in this arena. It's pretty special to see all these people come share it with me.
Q: What was it like planning the whole day and trying to get everyone involved?
A: It was a pain. I had a lot of help, actually. My aunt and my mom and my dad, they all helped me plan it pretty good. So hopefully everything goes smoothly. ... I played in Colorado for a few years. I had a bunch of friends come in from there and old coaches. It should be a pretty special day. ... I got a couple family parties (planned). I'm going to take it up to the U. game and have a big bash that night.
Q: You scored two goals in the clinching game (of the stanley cup finals). What a way to win it, right?
A: I know — it was a dream come true. You can't ask for anything better than that. To hoist it and have my friends and family be there, it was unbelievable.
Q: What has the summer been like for you?
A: It's been busy, but it's been fun. It's been short, but I'm ready to go again (camp starts this month) and try to win another one.
