BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana coach Kevin Wilson likes what he sees at Indiana State.

In three years, the Sycamores have gone from perennial losers to confident contenders because they work hard and believe in themselves.

It's a philosophy Wilson wants to instill in his own program. On Saturday night, Wilson and the Hoosiers will get a chance to see how they measure up against the resurgent Sycamores as both teams open a new season.

Indiana is trying to turn the page on its worst season in years (1-11) and finished as the only BCS conference school that did not beat a foe from the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Indiana State, meanwhile, is trying to prove two straight winning seasons were no fluke and that it can contend for a conference title.
