Wherever I walk — be it to a store, park, doctor's office, etc. — I see cigarette butts littering the ground. Dog owners carry a bag to dispose of their doggie's waste to protect the environment. Wouldn't it be great if smokers would do the same thing and carry a bag to put their discarded butts in?

"Smokers should cleanup after themselves"
========
Fine.
But shouldn't this letter be "People should cleanup after themselces"?
Singling out just "Smokers" shows a bias and More..
Smokers are among the worst offenders, along with consumers of fast food. They think the world is their rubbish bin, and cleanup is someone elses' problem. The worst, however, are the smokers you see throwing lit butts out of their car. We live More..
I agree. And a similar letter could be written for soda drinkers, the fairly large number of dog owners who don't clean up, candy bar eaters, fast-food patrons, potato chip eaters, etc. People are slobs.
