ROAD TO THE POSTSEASON — BYU is contracted to play in the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego on Dec. 20 against a team from the Mountain West Conference — as long as the Cougars are bowl-eligible and are not invited to a BCS bowl. Reaching a BCS bowl would most likely require an undefeated season. The toughest stretches on the schedule are the pair of challenging back-to-back road games — at Utah (Sept. 15) and Boise State (Sept. 20), then at Notre Dame (Oct. 20) and Georgia Tech (Oct. 27).
