Spartans end up winless at Babe Ruth World Series

MURRAY — The host team ended up 0-4 in the Babe Ruth 14-year-old World Series after a 2-1 loss against Newburgh, Ind., on Wednesday night at Ken Price Field.

Murray's other losses included an 8-1 setback against Mountain Home, Ariz., an 8-4 loss to Mineral Area, Mo., and a 17-3 loss to Branchburg, N.J.

Vernal lost 6-5 to Westchester, Calif., on Wednesday.

Vernal also lost to Jacksonville, Fla., 13-8, fell to Twin Cities, Wash., 9-8 and defeated Southbury, Conn., 14-4.
