Baseball roundup: Strasburg wins 15th game; Giants cancel 20,000 Cabrera T-shirts

The original shirts had featured last month's All-Star game MVP but have now been replaced by a "Gigantes" version with center fielder Angel Pagan's name on the back, Slaughter said. They will be handed out in a giveaway for a Sept. 8 game against the rival Los Angeles Dodgers.

Earlier Tuesday, baseball Commissioner Bud Selig banned Cabrera associate Juan Nunez — a consultant to the outfielder's agents — from all team clubhouses.

ASTROS SCOUT CLEMENS: Roger Clemens thinks any talk about a return to the majors is premature.

The Houston Astros decided to check him out anyway.

General manager Jeff Luhnow said Tuesday the Astros sent a scout to look at Clemens and left-hander Scott Kazmir, who also plays for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent Atlantic League. Clemens is to make his first start on Saturday at home against Bridgeport.

INDIANS PITCHER TO HAVE SURGERY: Cleveland Indians' right-hander Josh Tomlin will have Tommy John surgery Wednesday, ending his season and likely leaving him sidelined for most of 2013.

The Indians made the announcement Tuesday before playing the middle game of a three-game series in Seattle. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Lewis Yocum in California.
