KEARNS — Tyson Haddon hit a two-run single in the top of the ninth to lift Stansbury to a 15-13 win over Tooele in the American Legion state championship game at Gates Field on Friday night.
The Stallions rallied from an eight-run deficit to defeat their rivals from Tooele. Haddon was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
Tooele had the momentum for most of the day. The Buffaloes forced a true championship game by beating Stansbury 18-8 in the first game on Friday.
Stansbury moves on to the Western Regionals.
