LONDON — At her regular job covering Wimbledon as a studio host for British TV, Charlie Webster hears a lot of "Quiet, please" and polite reminders for fans to turn off their mobile phones.

For the past week at the Horse Guards Parade, her goal has been to keep things rowdy.

Webster is a presenter at what is turning out to be the iconic venue of the 2012 Olympics, the beach volleyball stadium in the city center that has a view of the Big Ben clock tower and the London Eye.

Her responsibilities are part sideline reporter, part host, part cheerleader, full-time party.

She says her job is to make sure the crowd knows what the rules are.

And those rules are very different from what they might be used to at Wimbledon or the local cricket match.
