OXNARD, Calif. — Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins insists he never asked for a trade.
After Dallas completed its first walkthrough session Monday, Jenkins said he is focused on getting healthy and back on the field. He is still rehabilitating from offseason shoulder surgery and is on the team's physically unable to perform list.
Jenkins skipped voluntary workouts in Texas this summer, instead doing his rehab work at home in Florida after his surgery.
During the offseason, Dallas signed free-agent cornerback Brandon Carr to a five-year deal and drafted All-American cornerback Morris Claiborne sixth overall. Jenkins is going into the final year of his contract.
Receiver Dez Bryant was on the field two weeks after his arrest following an argument with his mother. He didn't talk to reporters.
