Utah Utes football: Marc Pouvave out for season with Achilles injury
SALT LAKE CITY — University of Utah officials have confirmed that offensive lineman Marc Pouvave, a 6-foot-4, 336-pound transfer from Southwestern Community College (Calif.), suffered a torn Achilles tendon on Thursday and will be out for the upcoming season. Pouvave was expected to compete for the starting left tackle position when camp opens next week. Percy Taumoelau, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound junior, currently tops the depth chart at left tackle. Pouvave and redshirt freshman Kala Friel (6-4, 305) shared the No. 2 spot.
