PARK CITY — The second week of the 2012 Deer Valley Music Festival will feature an evening of opera hits and American rock band Kansas.
On Friday, July 20, at 7:30 p.m., "Opera Hits!" features the Utah Opera Chorus and guest vocalists led by Utah Symphony principal pops conductor Jerry Steichen.
Guest artists include Celena Shafer, Jennifer Welch-Babidge, Sishel Claverie, Darrell Babidge and Ryan MacPherson.
On Saturday, July 21, at 7:30 p.m., guest conductor Larry Baird will lead the Utah Symphony in a musical collaboration with American rock band Kansas as they perform hits such as "Dust in the Wind" and "Carry on Wayward Son."
Both Friday and Saturday performances will be held at the Deer Valley Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater (2250 Deer Valley Drive South).
Tickets for Deer Valley Music Festival events can be purchased by phone at 801-533-6683, in person at the Abravanel Hall ticket office or online by visiting www.utahsymphony.org/tickets.
Discounted general admission tickets are available for students with a valid student ID for many performances.
Ticket prices will increase by $5 when purchased on day of performance.
