COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Fabian Castillo scored in the 81st minute and FC Dallas ended a 13-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over Colorado on Saturday.
Castillo assisted on the game-tying goal by Carlos Rodriguez in the 60th minute. Rodriguez also had an assist for FC Dallas (4-9-7).
FC Dallas had not won since beating Montreal on April 14. The team was 0-7-6 since.
Omar Cummings scored in the 50th minute for Colorado (7-11-1) The Rapids lost for the third straight time, matching their season high.
FIRE 1, WHITECAPS 0: At Bridgeview, Ill., midfielder Pavel Pardo scored on an early free kick and Chicago snapped a 221-minute scoreless streak on the way to a victory.
The Fire (9-6-4, 31 points) prevailed despite playing a man short for the final 21 minutes after defender Arne Friedrich was ejected with a second yellow card.
SPORTING KANSAS CITY 2, CREW 0: At Columbus, Ohio, Jacob Peterson and Teal Bunbury scored, and Sporting Kansas City beat Columbus to grab sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference.
Kansas City (11-5-3) took the lead in the sixth minute when Peterson Joseph split the defense with a pass to Peterson, who beat goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum for the 1-0 lead. Bunbury got the second goal in the 82nd minute off a counterattack.
TORONTO FC 1, REVOLUTION 0: At Foxborough, Mass., rookie midfielder Luis Silva scored in the eighth minute and Toronto FC downed New England.
UNION 2, IMPACT 1: At Chester, Pa., Carlos Valdes' goal in the 91st minute lifted Philadelphia past Montreal.
GALAXY 5, TIMBERS 3: At Portland, Ore, David Beckham and Robbie Keane each scored twice for Los Angeles.
