ORLANDO, Fla. — The Jazz showed Tuesday they have bounce-back ability, defeating the Philadelphia 76ers 84-80 and improving on Monday's losing effort at the Orlando Summer League.

"Whenever you lose in the NBA, you have to focus on getting a win," said Jazz Summer League coach Scott Layden. "It was encouraging the guys did that today. There were opportunities where the Sixers made runs and we didn't get fazed by it. We showed good patience today and got a good win."

The Jazz were led by Alec Burks' 31-point performance.

The 20-year-old guard put on a show, scoring key baskets, including several clutch layups of the spectacular fashion.

"He was phenomenal," Layden said. "He wanted to come back (from yesterday's loss). He knew it was an opportunity for him to help the team win. Had he not scored like that, I don't think we would have won the game."

Burks didn't win the game alone. The Jazz showed much improvement following Monday's loss to Detroit, a game in which they shot 39 percent from the field. Shooting numbers were up to a respectable 46 percent and the Jazz grabbed 37 rebounds Tuesday, up four from Monday's game.

The Jazz still only managed to get two players in double-figures — Enes Kanter scored 10 points on the day — but the overall performance was a much-needed step in the right direction for the Jazz.
