While BYU and Utah Valley University are vying for national championships this weekend, some local high schools are also looking to claim titles.
The quarterfinals and the semifinals of the national high school single school and club championships begin Friday, with the championship matches slated for Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium.
In the boys high school club bracket, Snow Canyon will meet Dixon, Calif., in a quarterfinal match Friday. In the boys high school club bracket, defending champion Trybe (formerly Highland) will take on Colorado Springs and United (Utah) squares off against Marin, Calif., Friday.
The high school championships will be played Saturday at 10 a.m., and noon, respectively.
