LAS VEGAS — The Salt Lake Bees were shut out for the first time this season, as they were blanked 8-0 by the Las Vegas 51s on Sunday afternoon. Aaron Laffey and Bobby Korecky combined on a three hitter for the 51s and Salt Lake only had one runner get as far as second base. The Bees did not get their first hit of the game until John Hester led off the sixth with a single to center. Las Vegas already led 4-0 when they put it away with back-to-back homers in the fourth by Anthony Gose and David Cooper, his second of the game, off of Francisco Rodriguez.
Trevor Bell (1-4) suffered his fourth consecutive loss, as he went just two and one-third innings and allowed four runs on six hits with one walk. Andrew Romine had two of three Salt Lake hits, as the Bees have now lost three straight and ten of their last eleven games.
