Were one of our political candidates to take such a courageous stand, this alone would very nearly secure our votes in the upcoming election. Thanks to the Eyres for unequivocally calling attention to one of the severest problems plaguing our nation each day.

The murder rate today has fallen to half of what it was at its peak from the late seventies through the early nineties. It is actually back down to the level of 1960. Obviously any murder is one too many, but we've made remarkable progress.
