PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra has named four finalists whose concerto solos were posted online and voted on by the public as most deserving of an audition with conductor Manfred Honeck in June.

The videos were posted from April 13-30 and generated more than 22,000 votes.

The four finalists will receive round-trip tickets to audition for Honeck in June, with the winner getting $10,000 and a solo slot on two orchestra concerts conducted by Honeck this fall.

The finalists are pianists Benjamin Hopkins, of Los Angeles and Manon Hutton-DeWys, of Bronx, N.Y.; violinist William Hagen, of Salt Lake City; and cellist Angela Park, of Philadelphia.

The contest was held to help the orchestra identify young musicians not represented by talent agencies who would likely not have come to the orchestra's attention through conventional channels.
