It's a fairly simple concept to grasp; defending against two is far easier than against three. Stanford's men's volleyball team learned this all too well during its two matches at the Smith Fieldhouse in early February.

With Taylor out and Futi just returning from injury, the Cougars simply didn't have time to adjust to playing a Top 5 team.

Thursday's re-match will be much more competitive.
