Marjorie Cherrill Allen Brass1925 ~ 2012Marjorie Cherrill Allen Brass, age 86, passed away on April 11, 2012, from causes related to cancer. Marge was born in Chicago, IL, to Fred W. and Ariana Allen on July 13, 1925. She moved around many times as she was growing up because her father was active in opening banks that had closed during the Depression. She attended Syracuse University and graduated from Paine Hall Medical Assistants School in N.Y.C. She met the love of her life, Edward Cristy Brass, in December of 1949,in New Jersey, and married him in October of 1950. They became the parents of three sons, Edward K. Brass (Amy), James A. Brass (Jennifer), and William C. Brass (Susie), all in the Salt Lake Area. Ed's business took them to several cities and ended up moving the family to Salt Lake City, in 1973.They immediately fell in love with the beautiful mountains and surroundings. Ed and Marge started their own business here in 1975 as Manufacturers reps and worked hard for 25 years until their son Jim took over. After retirement, Marge became interested in Three Fountains Condominiums, where they have lived since they moved here. She was very proud to have been a past president of the association. She will greatly miss her 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild, all of whom she was so very proud. Private memorial services will be held for the family on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, Marge would appreciate donations to The Road Home in SLC. Her family would like to acknowledge and thank her devoted friends who sought to bring her comfort right up until her very last breath.
