Lex Stewart Nelson1952 ~ 2012Dr. Lex Stewart Nelson, age 60, passed away on April 5th, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born to Bazel and Bernice Nelson on March 6, 1952, Lex lived a remarkable life of accomplishment in every sense. Lex married his high school sweetheart, Jenene Johnson, January 22, 1971 in San Diego, California. They were later sealed in the St. George Temple for time and all eternity on December 20, 1973. Lex's life achievements started early, and continued until his last days. He was an accomplished track athlete setting multiple high school records, many of which still stand. He loved photography, camping, hunting with his boys, fishing, boating, skiing, and a good round of golf. With each interest, Lex would never accept less than his very best, a legacy of hard work he left for those who love him. Lex understood the great value of education, and later earned his PHD in Psychology, a love he used in the last years of his life to counsel and help people struggling with relationship challenges and psychological disorders. He began his professional career as an industrial psychologist, and later started and ran several successful construction businesses. Lex was dedicated to the Lord, serving in many church callings and capacities. As accomplished as Lex was in his hobbies and career, his greatest achievement was his commitment to the highest level of personal character, and his unwavering love for his family and friends. Lex loved a good prank, and had a sense of humor that could brighten any moment. He was kind and selfless, living his life for others always ahead of himself.Lex was preceded in death by his father and survived by his mother, his always loving wife, his five children, Taunya (Devin) Cox, Aaron (Melissa), Kristin (Chris) Jones, Cari (Brian) Abarr, Brett, and his 10 grandchildren whom he adored.
