Jan Lynn MikesellMarch 25, 1936 March 6, 2012Jan Lynn Mikesell passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family members on March 6th, 2012 of natural causes. He was born March 25th, 1936 on a kitchen table in Soda Springs Idaho, to Edwin and Relia Mikesell.The second youngest of four boys, Jan's mother passed away when he was 13, and was then raised by Fred and Grace Corbridge, whom he considered his parents. Jan graduated from Ogden High. He then attended Weber College where he graduated in Mechanical engineering. Jan met his wife of 54 years, Marilynn Dearden, while they were working at McKay-Dee hospital in Ogden. They were married in the Logan Temple on February 14th, 1958 and have five wonderful children. Jan enjoyed traveling, and spending time with this family. Jan's favorite trips were to Newport Beach, collecting sand dollars with his grandkids and saving seats at the PepsiCola theater in Disneyland. He enjoyed the outdoors - camping, fishing and hunting. He loved fishing the wild rivers of Alaska and frequented his favorite spots on the Kenai Peninsula. Jan was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served a local mission in Huntington Beach, California. He was also ordained a Seventy.Jan was proceeded in death by his father Edwin, mother Relia, brother Don Mikesell, and Fred and Grace Corbridge.He is survived by his five children, Leslee Ensminger (Steve), Brad Mikesell (Kristen), Shelly Clark (Brad), Tina Allen (James) and Lynette Plott (Ryan), eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, his brothers Larry Mikesell (Billie) and Robert Mikesell (Vickie).Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 10th at 11:00am in the Northridge Chapel located at 11196 South Wasatch Blvd. Sandy Utah. Friends may call Friday March 9th from 6:00 8:00pm at the Northridge Chapel and prior to the services 10:00-10:45am.
